DRIFTWOOD Now Open at 1152 Makawao Avenue Location, Grand Opening on Sunday, May 3rd
Award-winning Makawao salon owner Carrie Gebb has opened DRIFTWOOD, a women’s lifestyle boutique located in Makawao, it was announced today. The boutique, located on the corner of Makawao Avenue and Ai Street across from the public parking lot, is now open seven days a week, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Grand Opening celebration will take place in the store on Sunday, May 3rd, and will feature a 10% discount on purchases, giveaways, refreshments, and a blessing ceremony.
The newly renovated retail space features a carefully curated array of items including women’s clothing, shoes, fine artisan jewelry and accessories, home goods such as pillows, rugs, and tableware, skin care products, teas and edibles, and unique gift items.
“I love fashion and home decor so much that I wanted to turn my hobby into a career. My aim is to help women look and feel their best and surround themselves with things they admire, making them feel confident and powerful,” said Gebb, who also owns the award-winning Paragon Salon just two doors down.
With an emphasis on local goods made in Hawai’i, DRIFTWOOD currently carries high-end local clothing brands such as Acacia Swimwear and Olympia Activewear; local jewelry and accessories by Pandeia and Almeria Design; and local food products from Maui Preserved, Adoboloco, and Monkeypod Jam. The retail space formerly was home to the Makawao History Museum and previously the Randy Jay Braun Gallery.
